Newfoundlands

Newfoundlands were originally used as working dogs. Usually black in colour, they are known for their loyalty and kind personalities. Due to having webbed feet, Newfoundlands are renowned for their water rescue tendencies.

Newfoundlands require grooming at least once a fortnight, due to their long coat. Weighing up to 60-70 kg (130-150 lb), Newfoundlands are placed in the giant weight range, with one 120kg Newfoundland being known to measure over 7 feet from nose to tail.

Well-known Newfoundland owners include Robert F Kennedy, Lord Byron, and Ulysses S Grant.
