Meet the Team

Sarah Simms

Sarah set up Village Groomers in June 2001, after leaving her finance job in the City.

She began by grooming family and friends dogs from her garage but the business quickly grew.

Within a couple of years of trading Sarah identified a gap in the market for people needing care for their dogs during the day.

She established the first daycare facility in the Home Counties for clients on a small basis & over the years it has grown and grown to become the leading provider of doggy daycare in Harpenden and surrounding areas.

Sarah’s passion for dogs and ensuring they receive the very best of service remains her priority, as she continually looks for new ways to improve the service her and her team offer.

Sarah is the proud owner of 3 schnauzers, Stan a mini and Giants, Lottie & Luther.

Her favourite thing to do is travel and she is known by her friends as Judith Chalmers…

Tyler Clark

As General Manager Tyler has his work cut out. He is responsible for the day to day operations of Village Groomers. He ensures your dogs are collected on time, receive the right service and come home happy!

He manages absolutely everything to do with numbers and paperwork, as well as the team rotas.

Best of all he has the patience of a saint and all the dogs love him.

Tyler has been completely responsible for moving Village Groomers into the 21st century and has introduced the latest software to ensure we can connect with our clients effectively.

Mitchell Webb

Mitch joined Village Groomers in October ’16 & has proved to be an integral part of the whole team.

You will catch mitch at 6.30am every morning preparing the van for its run into Harpenden & he has now become a familiar face to so many families, collecting their dogs and ensuring a safe journey to day care.

once back at base, Mitch supports the daycare team and works closely with all the dogs to ensure they are settled and enjoy their day!

In the 5 years that Mitch has been with us he has never had a days sick, an impressive fact!

In his spare time, Mitch loves to cook only with the finest of ingredients & supports his beloved football team, Aston Villa.

Barney joined Village Groomers in September 2019 & is based in our daycare team . His sunny disposition is a hit with both the  dogs & customers.

The dogs of all sizes love nothing more than a big cuddle with Barney & also playing football with him.

This 6ft4 gentle giant can also be found in our puppy zone, reading to the pups over lunch time as the have their snoozes.

Did you know that Barney once had a birthday party & Amanda Seyfried of Mamma Mia (film) came along!

When not cuddling dogs, Barney can be found supporting the fire Service, as an on call firefighter & supporting Chelsea football team.

Vikki Jones

Vikki joined the Village Groomer team in March 2018 & we are delighted with what she has bought to the business.

Her bubbly personality & fabulous creativity ensures her grooming is current and enables her to build excellent rapports with both the clients & their dogs.

She has won British Grooming champion and is able to produce Breed specific cuts, as well as practical pet cuts, for easy management.

Her work speaks for itself and she is a great asset to Village Groomers.

Vikki spends her spare time treading the boards with her local Amateur dramatics group, can rock a pair of tap shoes & loves nothing more than curling up with her beautiful cocker spaniels, Sweetpea & Lady, to watch a Disney film.

Georgia joined Village Groomers in November 2021 & can be seen here with her beloved Bruce.

She lights up any room she walks into with her sunny smile. She has become queen of the puppy zone & is constantly heard chatting to the pups and singing to them.

Her duties also include collecting the daycare dogs from St Albans and supporting the grooming team.

Georgia is so full of energy, she radiates happiness & all the dogs adore her.

Did you know that Georgia played volleyball for Birmingham Uni and despite a passion for travel, has never been to Georgia!
